Humanized scientific birth, a more natural option

Luckily, we see that things are changing with respect to childbirth and its modalities.

Women have more and more options to decide how we want to bring our children to the world.

If we talked recently about special rooms to give birth at home in the clinic La Milagrosa and the alternative of home delivery, now we know of a new technique, a more natural type of birth: Humanized scientific birth.

It is the combination for those who want the security of a health center but with a more sensitized treatment towards women and their physiological process.

This new birth model is the one practiced at the Hospital Quirón in Madrid with the advice of gynecologists, midwives and nurses who assist the mother respecting her dilation time, without administering the drip of oxytocin to stimulate contractions artificially.

Instead of lying down during dilation, it is favored that the woman can move to contribute to labor.

In addition, the epidural becomes optional and is not administered "by decree" as usually happens.

Since the new hospital delivery model started working, of 41 births, only 2 were caesarean sections.

According to the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SEGO), in humanized scientific delivery, shaving is not routine and birth is allowed in different positions, in addition to being able to ingest small amounts of fluid during dilation, and allow the baby's contact with The mother from the start.

As I said at the beginning, I think that fortunately things are changing. At least, we have more and more options and I think this is very valid.
