Sometimes mothers can become very heavy with our children, but we do not usually see it until they put us a video like the one you can see below. That's why I really liked this recreation done by the girls of The BreakWomb, because it makes clear what the situation would be like if mothers talk to each other as we talk to our children. We would look this ridiculous.
Why don't we see badly talk to a child as we speak to him, but we are shocked to see him among adults? We cut ourselves with adults, not with our children. And it is not about stopping to educate them, let them know that it is not right to interrupt a conversation, for example, but to do it in a kinder way on our part, without embarrassing them.
How would you feel if a friend spoke to you this way? Embarrassed, confused, maybe somewhat humiliated. How do you think your son feels when you talk to him like that, and sometimes sometimes in front of other people? I sometimes find that I have been making a personal mark on everything my daughters do, highlighting and correcting everything they do wrong.
As I said before, the question is not to stop educating them, but in adopt a more friendly way of communicating with our children, a more equal treatment, because although they are children they deserve to be respected as we would with any adult.
