Pregnant women and temporary reduced mobility

In line with the news about the reserved shared parking between disabled and pregnant women in the Basque Country, about which we wanted to know your opinion, we have met other similar initiatives of parking for pregnant women in the rest of the territory.

I already expressed my opinion in the previous post: I consider that, in general, pregnant women are not a person of “temporary reduced mobility”, as those responsible for these measures point out, but that the pregnant woman is a person with a large transitory volume. And, in any case, they had their own places to not share the site for people with other needs.

That large volume of pregnant women leads us to need to open the car door at all to get out, separate from the desk, turn to go through a narrow aisle where there are more people ... But in principle, if there is no special condition in our pregnancy, The pregnant woman can move.

And well that some move until the time of delivery, precisely looking for it to be triggered naturally. I'm not talking about extreme cases like some that are going to run marathons, no.

I speak of a moderate and continuous exercise that favors the dilation of the cervix when the expected date of childbirth approaches while maintaining a good health throughout pregnancy, avoiding circulatory or muscular problems that would prevent us from moving.

Obviously, the weight and volume of the woman increases during pregnancy, and that can lead to some difficulties when performing some tasks such as tying the laces or getting up from the floor (put on when we have just done some exercises). But that It is far from being “temporary reduced mobility”.

Personally, I was more fit during my pregnancies than now, basically because I exercised every day. Rare was the time I missed my hours of walking or other exercises to strengthen my abdominal or leg muscles in the face of childbirth.

Maybe now I can run better than then, yes, I was not here to do marathons. But I didn't need to run then, nor do I need it now (except when I "run" behind the kids). And it is clear that the general physical state was better. Of course, I could walk long enough to get from the car to my destination.

Now he would be unable to do the sit-ups or the "sitting" squats he did then, or the stretches, after months of preparation and continuity. Anyway, it will be a matter of exercising with the girls ... And you, Did you feel fit during pregnancy or were you rather of reduced mobility?
