Why is it important for the baby to be upside down (awake)?

We are increasingly aware of the importance of the baby sleeping on his back, since this position decreases the risk of sudden infant death. But you also have to place them on the belly from time to time, awake. Why is it important for the baby to be face down when awake?

At first the head movements will be minimal, but little by little the child will begin to want to look at everything and move more. The arms will also be part of this muscle strengthening when you start being able to lean on them to join.

For all these reasons it is convenient to put the baby several times a day on his belly, when playing. It is one more way to favor its correct development at different levels.
