Playing sports regularly improves glucose levels in type 1 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is one that requires insulin injected to regulate blood glucose levels. But there are studies that guarantee that Children who play sports regularly may have better blood glucose levels than those who do not practice it.

A recent study published in the journal "Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine" and conducted at the University of Bonn (Germany), affirms these data and also ensures that regular sport does not increase the risk of children suffering a serious decrease in glucose levels, what is known as hypoglycemia.

The research was carried out with type 1 diabetics between 3 and 20 years old, dividing them into three groups, by age, and three other groups, those who did not do sports, those who did it once or twice a week and those who they practiced physical exercise three or more times a week. With the data of each patient provided by the clinics that attended them, such as their glucose levels, age, weight, height, frequency of physical activity, etc., they concluded that the groups of children who performed less sports, That week they had higher blood glucose levels than those who did more exercise.

We know the benefits that physical exercise brings to our health, but starting with the little ones and more when they have any pathology such as asthma or diabetes, is our work as parents.
