Low response in IVF

The scientific committee of the SEF (Spanish Fertility Society) has been in Seville since yesterday, celebrating the 1st National Meeting of Interest Groups, where assisted reproduction specialists develop scientific developments in their area, hold conferences and debates, and also present book, Low response in IVF.

This is one of the topics discussed at the meeting, according to the data of this Society, approximately 15% of women in our country who undergo in vitro fertilization to have a child, do not respond to ovarian stimulation treatment, and ensure that The negative rate is increasing due to the passing of the years, as we have mentioned on several occasions, delaying being a mother (from 35 years old) makes the quality of the ovules and a low reserve hinder the response to fertilization in vitro. In this book, sponsored by Laboratorios Organon, more than 30 specialists in assisted reproduction have participated and is intended for gynecologists from the same sector. They know that it is a problem not being able to identify women who can present this low response before starting the expensive treatment, there is, for the moment, a test that shows or detects it, two cycles of treatment are necessary for it.

The experts attending the meeting say that this "is one of the main challenges of reproductive medicine to establish individualized therapies before starting expensive, bloody and ineffective treatments."

As science and medicine progress, we don't think they take long.
