Comparative study of diapers: Huggies - Dodot

Our partner Lola already brought us some time ago her own comparative analysis of Dodot and Huggies diapers.

Now Consumer has made a comparative study between different diapers and bragapañales of these brands, the most sold in Spain.

Three samples of diapers and 3 samples of pantyhose for boys and girls in the last stages of use of these products, Huggies and Dodot brands, have been analyzed in the laboratory.

The diapers analyzed HUGGIES have been Super-dry, DODOT Stages flexible adjustment and DODOT Stages Plus Activity, obtaining the first 2 the qualification of "satisfactory" and the last "very satisfactory". As to the panties, the ones analyzed are Dodot Stages Plus Liberty (overall rating "very satisfactory"), Huggies Pull Up Girl ("satisfactory") and Huggies Pull Up Boy (overall rating "correct").

According to the analysis, the best value for money They are the Huggies diapers, the cheapest and with a satisfactory overall quality, although the most expensive Dodot Activity are of better quality. Among the Dodot Stages Plus Liberty is the best choice for its very good quality and its price similar to those of Huggies.

The study took into account variables such as price, number of diapers per container, weight, thickness and dimensions of the diaper, adhesives (strength, resistance, starting), absorption capacity and moisture on contact. The conclusions, broken down, are as follows.

The bragapañales they are, on average, 30% more expensive and are recommended for the time when boys and girls learn to go to the service because they can be lowered like a panty. These are better at protecting babies' skin because their contact moisture is lower, but they absorb less liquid than conventional disposable diapers.

Regarding differentiated diapers for boys and girls, no significant differences were found by sex, that is, in Unisex diapers and bragapañales are not better for one sex than for another.

Within each type (diapers and bragapañales) there are no differences in the width of the crotch (which could hinder the first steps) and there are hardly any in its size and weight.

The 6 diapers analyzed passed the quality tests they underwent, but with differences: in terms of elastic waistband, the Dodot bragapañal is the winner and the Huggies child bragapañal welds are the most resistant. Regarding the diaper stickers, the most resistant and easy to put on and take off were those of Huggies.

In short, in the end, what counts is the experience of each parent with their children. In my case I do not know all these diaper models, but it may be good for me to know these differences later, in case I decided to change brands.
