Philosophy for children (First part)

We think the Philosophy It is a discipline completely away from children's experience. But nevertheless, the love of wisdom, is something that since they are born, humans carry inside. Children, innocent discoverers of the world, long to learn. Philosophy was born exactly like that, as the systematization of the unanswered questions we all ask ourselves.

Logic, theories about Nature, ethics, the essence of the World, all that, if we listen with an open mind, they do it in their daily learning. When they are older we can help them ask themselves those questions and look for the answers. Making this path with them we can relearn ourselves to see the universe with new eyes.

There are also numerous resources, even free, to advance philosophy exercises in an entertaining and interesting way. It is an experience that is enjoyed, and all true learning comes from pleasure to learn. It is also a possibility to share intellectual adventures parents and children, something indispensable and that, being children so long in school, we get to forget. Parents are the best teachers, the most loving, the most attentive and exclusive; so even though the school fulfills an important mission, we can also complete the learning of our children, not only helping them with their sometimes boring homework.

Walking, talking with them, listening to their questions with new ears, daring to look for new explanations, accepting that everything they have taught us can be false and that there are many truths waiting to be discovered, it will be we who learn many unexpected things. It will be an unforgettable itinerary with the best teachers that parents can have, their children who learn to understand the world without prejudice.

As a complement I propose you to read the options offered by the Philosophy Foundation for Children, which has been working on a set of stories and resources since 1969 to develop critical and creative thinking.
