The best children's films: 'The Incredibles'

Again we approach with 'The Incredibles' to another animation film signed by the factory Pixar in which it is possible to extract many readings, but above all it is an entertaining film, fast-paced and especially suitable for family viewing. Parents and children who can enjoy together the adventures of incredible characters.

Not surprisingly it turns out that a very special family is the protagonist and around it revolves a story of super powers, Superheros, but also of family ties, self-esteem, integration and identity crisis overcome with work and love and union to regain self-esteem.

As usually happens in almost all Pixar movies ('The Incredibles' is written and directed by Brad Bird in 2004) it has different levels in the plots that form the plot. Giving each type of audience their dose to fully enjoy the movie. The little ones will enjoy the characters and the adventures, the somewhat older children will know how to capture some messages and morals that the film has and, of course, adults can draw conclusions that are also enjoyed and that reinforce family ties.

What counts

'The Incredibles' tells the adventure of a family of some old superheroes that after living a stage of glory in which the fight against evil and the use of their Superpowers It is something everyday, now they have assumed an anonymous identity. With more routine, normal lives and in which their super powers are "hidden" to not seem rare.

Bob (Mr. Incredible) is the father and works in an insurance company, a boring job and from which he longs for his last stage. Looking forward to returning to action at any time. On the other hand, Helen Parr (Elastigirl) takes care of her three children in a house on the outskirts of the city and tries to prevent her little ones from taking advantage of her powers.

However, this apparent calm, to which they are forced in order not to be discovered and not seem "weird," is broken when Bob receives a mysterious statement to go to a lost island on a top secret mission. This triggers the action and the return of Mr Incredible, confined almost to oblivion, to reuse his super powers in order to save humanity and fight an evil villain.

The peaceful charm of family life is broken and the rest of the members have to follow him for everyone fight together and rejoin, this time without hiding their true identities and powers.

We like it because ...

The story does not allow a minute of sigh, is well told and told from the start and maintains a fast paced throughout the footage. Packed with sequences of action and emotion. But what I liked the most is how well defined and presented each one of the characters from 'The Incredibles'.

From the father, to the children, through the mother, but also the villain and other secondary characters whose appearances are not mere comparsas, and provide their key moment and dialogues and very funny situations.

Behind the spectacular boot, we find an excellent drawing of each of the protagonists, they are spectacularly well defined and then we agree with them. We know and understand them from the beginning.

It is a story of a very peculiar family, special that is forced to show what they are not, in the end in their fight against evil, bring out their true identities, also achieved with union and strengthening the inseparable ties between them .

Values transmitted by 'The Incredibles'

One of the main virtues is the one that commented at the beginning and that is usually habitual in Pixar movies. It is possible to enjoy it at younger children, older, teenagers and adults. Everyone will be able to extract readings and find stimuli, excitement and fun from beginning to end.

The concept of family is the main character. Through some superheroes that are a different family, we find common elements in any family. But we also attend an identity crisis of each member. They are forced to live hiding their true identities, the mother carries it better, is strong and willing. The father does what he can but underlies the impetus to recover better times where respect for idols, heroes is more common. But also each of the children lives, one to make hooligans of their own age, another to remain in love with their first love ...

There is a crisis in the family that would soon explode and is released thanks to going back into action and the father's escape in search of his longing for adventure and to recover his place. The excess protection in which they lived was not a good solution and in this release it is shown that everyone needs their space, demonstrate what is worth, unleash their virtues and also that Working as a team the objectives are achieved. Of course, although their super powers come out, its most human facet It is the one that helps them overcome evil and be united again.

Recommended from 3-4 years

I insist again that the great work of the filmmaker in this film is not only based on the good story of the story, but also to ensure that from any age you can enjoy. The little ones will have a "pipe" with the characters, especially with the boy and his hooligans, in addition to the many gags. Older children will also get excited with superheroes, who always blow the imagination. And parents find a precisely familiar story full of fantasy and action so as not to blink.

Highly recommended for see her as a family and praise and comment together on the values and actions of each character.

We can find 'The Incredibles' both on DVD and in high definition. Especially Blu-ray is highly recommended, since in addition to enjoying the quality of Pixar animation, we will also find interesting extras. You can buy it in the main stores for about 20 euros.
