Spirou turns 75 and celebrates it with a great exhibition in Brussels until November 2013

Spirou It can be discovered in Brussels from April 23 to November 24, 2013 in an exhibition celebrating its 75th anniversary. Spirou was born on April 21, 1938 to animate the pages of the weekly newspaper for the youngest. It was launched by Depuis editions and has not stopped evolving throughout the three quarters of a century of its existence. Spirou is famous for his Lovely red button uniform from the Moustic Hotel and in which he developed his first adventures evolving up to 60 albums created for him.

Besides, the Dupuis editorial launches, taking advantage of its anniversary, Spirou.Z, a free and interactive version of the magazine for digital tablets from which you can download a special number and also accepts the formalization of subscriptions. The red-haired Spirou button maintains its jovial and adventurous spirit after going through the brush of 22 different cartoonists and now faces the new challenge of adapting to the digital era.

To celebrate the anniversary, the Belgian Comic Center (CBBD) offers a journey through such a long history in the Spirou exhibition, hand in hand with the collaboration of the Dupuis publishing house.

We remember that Spirou is one of the few in the European comic that belongs to an editor instead of its creator. The character is called that because he is a hyperactive, mischievous and adventurous character, or what used to be called in southern Belgium to the unruly young: a spirou ("squirrel" in Walloon dialect).

The tablet edition uses turbomedia and scrolling reading techniques to allow the reader to jump between cartoons or parade them as animated sequences, and has been developed by young creators from comics, illustration, photography and animation. The languages are French and English.
