Cinema is an art that has a lot to offer children, there is a children's cinema that is worthwhile and that teaches them to dream, to feel, to get excited, to think ... That is why we cannot miss the opportunity to mention the FICI, the Film Festival for Children and Youth.
It will be shortly, from November 18 to 23 in Madrid, at the Dreams Cinemas. It is already the X edition of the Festival, organized by the Tambor de Hojalata Association, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote, disseminate and defend the audiovisual culture between childhood and youth.
Is about a free programming which includes very diverse films (in total, 15 feature films and 11 short films from several countries), for the older ones but also for all audiences, and there are films especially recommended for children.
These are unpublished films in Spain, selected for their social and cultural content, so it is a good opportunity to discover small film treasures quite unknown.
We especially liked the proposals of the official children's section "Igor and the travel of the cranes", "She and her friends" (the rest are for over eight years), and in the animation section "Selkirk, the real Robinson Crusoe. " Among the short films we have "The giant" and others recommended for children aged five to eleven.
You have to book online tickets for the morning sessions (school centers) but the afternoon sessions are free until full capacity is reached. Definitely initiatives like this FICI Children's Film Festival we love, and also that they are the free sessions is very interesting.
