"If I could, I would": 'Breastfeeding' campaign to encourage father participation in breastfeeding

Héctor Cruz is a professional photographer and father of Sophie, four months. When his daughter was born, his wife had problems with breastfeeding and he realized the importance of father's support. As a result he decided to launch 'Breastfeeding' under the slogan "If I could, I would", a campaign created to encourage the participation of the father in breastfeeding.

He wanted to do something that would attract attention, so he decided to show pictures of men with their naked torsos pretending to breastfeed their children. With them, he intends on the one hand to raise awareness among men, as well as to stigmatize breastfeeding in public and empower women.

His original idea was to carry out a local action by placing a billboard in his hometown, Clarksville, Tennessee, but the campaign has been so well received that it has spread nationwide. It is now the men themselves who call him to be photographed with their babies and plans to launch a non-profit organization to inform parents about breastfeeding.

At first he felt helpless and confused for not knowing how to help his wife with breastfeeding problems. He informed himself and became a specialist to support her, because he is convinced that being next to his wife makes things easier.

He decided to create the campaign 'Breastfeeding' for encourage other parents to be actively involved in breastfeeding of their children. Parents that surely if they could, they would. Because your support is paramount.
