Half of the couples who sought a pregnancy in 2014 failed

It is ironic to realize that you spend your youth trying to avoid pregnancy, it seems that just looking at your partner can already become pregnant, and then, when you finally decide to have a baby, it seems mission impossible.

And is that getting a pregnancy is not always as easy as it seems, or it is not from a certain age, when the chances of achieving it are decreasing as the months and years pass. A study conducted by the Ginefiv Clinic, entitled "Knowledge and fertility habits of Spanish women" shows a figure that is worth assessing: 48% of couples who last year sought a pregnancy did not succeed.

This is because these couples decided to go find a baby when the woman's age exceeded 35 years of age, at which time the amount of eggs the woman has drops dramatically and also decreases the quality of the same.

Lack of information in couples

52% of the couples who were surveyed decided to try to achieve a pregnancy between 25 and 35 years of the woman. These couples were more likely to get it. However, in the study they saw that much of the guilt of not getting pregnant was the lack of information from couples.

25% of the respondents believed that there was no problem until the age of 40 and that it was thereafter that they could have a harder time being parents and 30% considered that this happened after 45 yearsWhen, as experts say, it is almost impossible to achieve a natural pregnancy.

In other words, of all the couples surveyed, more than half believed that up to 40 years of age or older they would have no problem getting pregnant. This obviously makes them wait and, when they try, it may be too late to achieve it.

The tendency is to be a growing mother

It is not new. Spanish women have increasingly older children. According to the data of the National Institute of Statistics, in 2012 the average age in which the Spanish had their first child was 31.6 years. In 2013, just one year later, the average increased up to 32.2 years, and this is not all, since the 2014 data is expected to be even higher.

Of course, if the average is already 32 years old, the margin is getting smaller. The closer the average approaches to 35 years, the more difficult it will be for women to be mothers and the lower the birth rate will be, at least, the one obtained naturally.

The fault, obviously, is not all of the couples. We live in a country in economic and stock crisis (of his politicians, especially), which is leading us to this. The youth unemployment is so high that the strange thing is that you see a young man with work. Without work, without the possibility of acquiring a home, who even thinks about bringing a baby into the world?
