They manage to hack the baby IP cameras and then upload the videos on the internet

Really, every day I get more surprised with how sick people can be. Who may have an interest in seeing a baby sleep or a mother or father taking care of him? I do not know, but you see, there are people interested in it because there have been cases of parents and babies victims of creepware, term with which the act of hack a webcam to see what it captures.

The worst thing is that, as mentioned, it is not too difficult or expensive to do, because the program to achieve it costs only € 35. The "spy" in question buys it, downloads it and applying the corresponding configuration can reach pick up the baby camera signal and then hang up the recorded videos or even offer live viewing.

Are there really people who do that?

So is. There are people for everything, unfortunately, and it is estimated that in the US more than 700,000 people are the victims of this practice. Come on, if you have a webcam and do not use it, it would not hurt to cover it.

In regards to babies, a woman, mother, resident in Rochester, Minnesota, gave the alarm about it when she realized she was being spied on. Apparently, they were in bed when they heard music coming from where the baby was and, upon arriving at the room, the melody stopped.

All this put her on alarm and with help they managed to track the original IP until she reached Amsterdam, where a website shows photos and videos of people from all over the world (cameras of people from 15 countries), and not only of babies, but of people who have their cameras in the kitchen, in rooms, etc.

But aren't cameras supposed to be safe?

Many of the baby cameras transmit the camera data to the monitor by closed circuit. These cameras are not so dangerous because the signal is local. Others, however, work connected to the network (IP cameras) to be seen from anywhere with internet and in these cases it seems that the risk of the signal reaching anywhere is greater, because as we have seen it can be accessed with the appropriate tool.

Call me paranoid, but I'm going to cover my webcam as soon as I can. With regard to the babies, as I have never used a camera for my children, they have always slept with us, even naps, which have made them in our arms or have been close, I am not particularly worried.
