A student creates an invention so that a mother in a wheelchair can walk with her baby

A custom as daily as going for a walk with the baby in his stroller is something impossible for a mother in a wheelchair. When Sharina Jones was five years old, she was shot in the leg that left her in a wheelchair for life, with which she should have learned to live together.

One of her concerns when she found out she was pregnant was how could she go out with her baby on the street? He saw other mothers walking with their babies and believed he could not. The solution came from the hand of a student of just 16 years who He created an invention so he could walk with his baby in his wheelchair.

Alden Kane studies at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and has spent six months designing a structure that attaches to the front of the wheelchair. The system is similar to scooters for siblings that are placed in baby strollers.

In addition to functionality, the main objective of the invention was security. The invention consists of a chassis with wheels, in the style of those of the strollers, on which a baby carrier of the group 0 * is attached.

When the baby grows, another solution must be found to fit a larger chair, but for now, it is a great idea for this mother in a wheelchair to go for a walk with her baby without anyone's help.
