Pope Francis recommends parents "waste time" with their children

Pope Francis is very given to address parents on issues that have to do with raising children. Recall, for example, those statements in which he defended responsible parenthood or when he encouraged mothers to breastfeed their children.

It is quite active in social networks, through which it usually launches messages loaded with meaning. One of the last ones, sent through his Twitter account, was addressed to parents, to whom recommends "wasting time" with your children because "it is one of the most important things they can do every day." Beyond religious issues, it doesn't matter if you are a Christian or not (imagine that it comes from anyone else), it is very valuable advice for who we are parents.

Parents: do you know how to “waste time” with your children? It is one of the most important things they can do every day.

Do we know how to "waste time" with our children?

I liked that the tweet was in the form of a question, because many times we "disguise" the time we are with our children when we are actually watching the mobile, TV or computer, but we are not actively spending time with them.

What is "wasting time" with children? It is precisely the opposite of what the word lose means. Whenever it comes to being with the people we love it's time earned, you should start saying "buy time" with your children. Playing with them, talking, walking, or whatever arises, precisely without the need to always have a pre-established plan, is time gained.

There is no need to always have activities scheduled for the whole weekend, but simply "wasting time" together is the best plan.

Because it doesn't matter about quality time and the amount of time. All the time we can share with them is important, even if we do nothing special. "Wasting time" you can know your children much better and share with them experiences that sometimes the weight of the routine does not allow us.
