From six months we can apply protective cream to the baby. According to the recommendations of the AEP, these would be the recommendations to choose it:
Use broad spectrum sunscreen cream with a protection factor (SPF) 15+ in abundance and as many times as necessary. This should protect, at least, against UVB radiation (causing sunburn) and UVA (mainly responsible for premature skin aging).
For young children, physical filter creams are recommended, which reflect the sun's rays without using chemical components that are absorbed through the skin. The downside is that these creams are more difficult to spread than normal ones and sometimes leave a white layer on top. They are also called mineral filter.
