Cooking with the boys

Cooking with the boys It can be more fun than you imagine. My oldest daughters attend a cooking workshop once a week for two hours since they are 4 years old. It is lovely to hear them talk about ingredients and procedures related to this activity; I am convinced that they not only learn simple culinary techniques, but also put into play all their creativity.

The kitchen is a place where many things happen: rules of coexistence are learned, patience is exercised and sharing is exalted. Cooking, children improve their fine skills, use all their senses, enrich their vocabulary and enhance their self-esteem. Many times, problems when eating are caused by a lack of motivation of the child when trying new foods. For you to feel interested it is important to arouse your curiosity, and what better way to make it a participant in the culinary process? Allow him to participate in all stages, from the purchase to the preparation of the dish. You will be contributing to generate health and quality of life. Here we send you a recipe of the many that can be done with the boys.

Coconut flakes

You need 3 eggs, 100 g of sugar, the peel of half a lemon, 250 g of grated coconut, 4 tablespoons of water, 100 g of leavening flour and 150 g of melted butter.

We boil the water in a jar, then place it in a bowl where we already put the grated coconut. Melt the butter and let it cool. Beat the juices with the sugar, add the coconut, the grated lemon peel, the flour and the melted butter. With this dough, we make copitos and place them in an enmantecada source and floured to medium oven. Enjoy the drinks!
