It must have a broad base and be very stable so that it cannot be tilted even if someone bumps into it.
If you have folding legs, make sure they are properly fixed before placing the baby.
The mattress must be firm and perfectly fit the chosen design.
The resting surface should be regular, without reliefs or hardware that could hurt the baby.
My opinion is that unless you get over the money or someone gives it to you, you don't need to worry about acquiring a bassinet. Soon your baby will be small; A crib, preferably a functional one, will serve your child for longer.
