Germany ran out of football "baby boom"

At the beginning of last year we learned that Germany was the country in the world with fewer children. To try to change this situation, the government implemented generous grants (up to 25,000 euros that reach for much more than our baby check) for babies born from January of this year which caused a wave of births due to the maneuvers of many parturients to delay delivery.

But in the middle of these two dates, specifically in the months of June and July 2006, the soccer world cup was held in Germany that heated the fans on the courts and as they believed it would also encourage many to procreate, so a baby boom was expected for the months of March and April, nine after the World Cup.

But said "boom" did not exist. Although there was a slight increase in births, the months of March and April passed without sorrow or glory in the birth history of that country. In April there was an increase of 2,500 children, compared to the same month of 2006, but in March it fell by 2,000 babies.

The conclusion I reach is that both in China and in Germany and here, football raises passions, but not as many as those that raise a good sum that helps couples solve the birth of a child.

The important thing is that little by little the German birth rate is increasing. During the first semester of 2007, 900 more babies were born than in the same period of 2006, it is not a significant increase but it seems that people are encouraged. We will know the figures for the second quarter in which you can see if the aid announced had its effect.
