Kanguras

I feel true predilection for kangaroos, both animals and these. Kangaroos are a paradigm to learn a lot from. They carry their young in their bag until they are ready for the jump to the ground and to their own independence.

The kanguras They are also a group of mothers who have decided to meet and offer support to families on respected pregnancy and childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting and education. They aim to create a support network for mothers, future mothers and for families seeking information for a conscious motherhood. They are committed women, women who raise in arms. They hold periodic meetings open to everyone who is interested.

Carrying the baby is increasingly a necessary idea, a way to recover ancestral and natural contact with the child. The benefits of porting are well known and we have treated them extensively in Babies and more.

However, mothers who decide to learn to do so are often isolated but eager to find "comadres" with whom to share experiences. This initiative responds to that need. The tribes and villages, in which humanity has developed over millennia, offered a network of physical and emotional support to mothers. When their time came they were not alone, they were accompanied by mothers, grandmothers, aunts, neighbors, sisters and friends. Not only had the fact of motherhood been shared with others, but since birth they were surrounded by their comadres.

There is an almost perfect phrase that expresses what we have missed in Western society: "It takes a village to raise a child". We have missed that. Go to parenting support groups, groups such as Kanguras, is a formula to alleviate this social loneliness. Other families in the same process of change and learning will help us to face the mysteries and challenges of a conscious motherhood.
