Framed in the strategy of humanization of childbirth in Andalusia this project is located that will undoubtedly facilitate many pregnant women preparing for childbirth. The Ministry of Health will launch a new "telematrona" service that will be developed in a total of 70 Andalusian municipalities.
This is a computer program that will bring childbirth preparation workshops closer to those pregnant women who reside in areas far from the centers where these courses are taught. Something important is that it will be an interactive tool through which pregnant women can raise their doubts or concerns that will be answered.
The program will begin to be tested in the first quarter of 2009 in the regions of Axarquía (Málaga), Alpujarras (Granada) and Valle de los Pedroches (Córdoba).
I think it's a very interesting project, which is close to the online birth preparation classes we saw. And, although in these experiences the direct contact with other women in our same situation and with the trainer himself is very important and recommended, we are talking about people who have difficulties to go to the training centers where these conditions occur.
Therefore, the one who intends to send that formation, which the majority considers necessary, to all households, seems to me a great idea.
