Last year, Darlene Howler Waller shared on Facebook the Christmas gift she gave to her grandchildren: she called it "the gift of time" and consisted of a box with 12 envelopes, one for each month of the year. Inside, a surprise activity to do with grandma and that they could not open until the current month arrived.

He counted that the gift was 12 envelopes, one for each month of the year, and that they could not open them until the first day of the month they touched.
Within each of them: a fun family activity to share with your grandchildren.
All the activities were already (mostly) planned: how to go see a movie together at the cinema or a baseball game, bowling, play laser tag or mini golf ...

While some of the "Adventure activities" they were only for the grandmother and the children, in her writing she explained that there would also be some special invitation to include other family members, and thus spend all leisure time together:
"Some of you choose them, others choose me. But they are all fun as a family activity for us to do together."
Why this idea? According to this unique grandmother because:
"Older kids don't need anything. They have all the toys and electronics they may need." I have always enjoyed collecting memories and, anyway, many of the things I put in the adventure box were activities we would have done this year anyway. "

"The kids loved it and the parents too, because they didn't need any more toys. They live on a tight budget, so it was nice to take the kids to the movies or bowling."

Having grandparents close and living with them, has many benefits for children, but also for adults. Among other advantages: they increase the years of life, avoid depression and create stronger and more confident people.
So ... why don't we steal the idea from Darlene Howler Waller and this year we give time with our children or grandchildren?
