Rare dreams in pregnancy

For those of us who are pregnant and getting closer to having our baby in our arms, the nights are somewhat more moved than usual.

To the discomforts of pregnancy that prevent us from sleeping pleasantly some very strange dreams that seem real, sometimes even distressing.

It is common to have them, and may be even more exacerbated when it comes to new mothers. It is normal to feel worry about the great change of life that involves the birth of a new child.

Concerns about caring for the baby, feeling emotions that have never been felt before, fantasies about childbirth that is approaching, other concerns and situations experienced during the day make us have dreams so vivid at night that they seem real.

Sometimes the dreams are so intense that they touch the hallucination. It is expected, and even healthy, that our head is focused on the issues surrounding pregnancy and the baby and they occupy much of our thoughts.

Dreams seem real. They represent distressing scenes such as that the baby cries and we do not hear it, it is hungry but we cannot feed it, it falls from the cradle, it is beaten, or a recurrent dream among pregnant women in which the mother does not find her baby who cries lost among the bed sheets.

It is good to count dreams and share them with your partner so that they are just that, fantasies and do not become traumas.

If rare dreams become recurring nightmares that cause real distress in the mother, it is convenient that you talk to your doctor or a psychologist.

For the rest, try to occupy your head with positive intentions related to childbirth and the baby, imagine the moment when it is in your arms, visualize its face ... That will help you get away from worries and attract good thoughts.
