We see more pregnant when we are pregnant

When my friends were going through their pregnancies I realized something: they all told me that they saw many pregnant women. What if they say that the birth rate is low, that there are many pregnant women ... And during my pregnancy I could check: we see more pregnant when we are pregnant.

I imagine the case is like when you just bought a shirt that you just discovered in a fashion store. You had never seen it before, until you put it on… and you start seeing the same shirt everywhere! Well, that is from Zara, H&M or El Corte Inglés, because if you buy in Yves Saint Laurent I already imagine that it will be more difficult to see the same clothes ...

But being pregnant is not something so “exclusive”, because it is normal that when we are going through this experience, it becomes such an important moment in our lives and we live with diverse and intense emotions, let's look more at the rest of pregnant women.

Our is activated "Belly radar", as if we had a new instinct to detect pregnancies, even incipients.

Then, the pregnant women look at each other with complicity, a smile, and we even exchange words if fate joins us in the super queue or waiting for the bus, when before we probably wouldn't have noticed their presence or talked to them.

Because ... what were we going to talk about? It is clear that when we are pregnant the possibilities of conversation multiply (although monothematic, of course):

  • And how much are you?
  • How's the nausea?
  • Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?
  • Have you already had such a test?
  • Who do you give the preparation classes with?
  • Where will you give birth?

Even I, who am not very open to talking with strangers, have participated in any of these situations during pregnancy, and I have shared experiences, doubts or fears with other pregnant women, especially when agreeing with doctor's consultations or in laboratories to the analysis.

It is checked: it's not that there are more pregnancies, it's that when we are pregnant we see more pregnant women. Hasn't it happened to you?
