Jaén's parents will be able to track the status of their admitted babies online

The "Visit your baby" project has just been announced, promoted by the Junta de Andalucía and with which it is intended that the parents of children admitted to the ICU follow their evolution via the Internet.

The project has developed a tool for parents or legal guardians of children admitted to the Pediatric Unit of the Jaén Hospital Complex to see them and follow their evolution from the Internet (PC or mobile via RTSP), thanks to the installation of ten cameras wireless

It is a program and a name similar to the one we saw that was imposed in La Rioja and other hospitals, although we also heard that on other occasions the hospital staff declares against the cameras in their units.

"Visit your baby" is one of the projects developed within the Living Lab Salud Andalucía innovation network, which accounts for technological progress and new times in terms of media, but we hope that it will not replace no case the right of parents to be with their children.

Well, while watching them on the Internet can be a relief, a peace of mind or the only option in some cases, this should not be an impediment for parents to be in the hospital if they can and want to, as intended.

For this reason, the program is considered as a complement to the kangaroo care performed by the parents and the possibility that they have to visit them at any time of the day or night at the center itself.

In fact, it encourages to know that this service of "Visit your baby", to see the children admitted through the Internet, was presented in the framework of a day on humanization in perinatal care.
