Associations of parents of students will claim support to help children as children

One of the issues that left me most surprised when I started to learn how the Infant Education courses work, that children start at about three years old, was that if someone peps or poops, they don't change them at school.

Bearing in mind that at that age some children will already have the subject under control but it is normal for others not to have it so much, and even more so that some of them "escape" at some point, there must be a solution for these cases.

The “solution” depends on the schools, in general the parents or whoever is on the “emergency” lists are called to go to school to take care of the child or take him home.

In some schools I heard that there were volunteers from the Associations of Fathers and Mothers who performed these cleaning tasks, until it occurred to them that it was not an adequate measure and they suspended this aid.

Honestly, it seems degrading to me that such a small child is kept with his needs on until someone can come to clean him, which can be in a short time.

The same think the Provincial Federation of Parents of Students Gabriel Miró, which will claim the Department of Education in court the need for support staff in the children's classrooms.

An obvious need, when there are more than 25 children in the classes and sometimes the infrastructure is not adequate either. But, beyond covering a minimum educational quality, we talk about a children's right.

According to those responsible for the Federation, not attending to children violates a basic principle such as the child's right to health, the right of children to be fully taken care of once they are in school.

Who should clean the children at school?

I also understand that nursery teachers are not those who perform these tasks, because their training is not adequate or falls within their "functions", although many do it by good will, but there are other qualifications that can serve children in this regard and that would provide invaluable support to the Children's classroom.

Schools have repeatedly requested monitors for these cases, but educational legislation does not provide this type of care for three-year-olds because teaching is not mandatory until six.

In addition, the only specific instructions on the work of educators, written by the General Directorate of Personnel of the Department of Education in 2002, textually warn that

the educator is not for the control of sphincters of the Infant Education students, nor for the students with behavioral problems or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Well, if the educator is not for these tasks, there must be other staff available. This is the case of the Valencian Community, although I imagine that in other Communities there will not be much difference in this regard, and in the end it is each school that is weathering the trouble One way or another.

It is normal for children to escape

As we mentioned at the beginning, it is not surprising that children at this age keep presenting some sphincter control problem. I do not believe that many parents take their children to school just removed the diaper.

I imagine that, knowing how this topic is in schools, in general, parents worry about “practicing” diaper removal at home if we know that the child will start going to class next year. That is why the case of children who pee or poop on it will not be excessive, so the solution is not so difficult.

As part of the educational community I know first-hand the abandonment of many centers and professionals, as well as the abusive cuts that make support and diversification programs disappear, lower educational quality and leave many students unattended.

Without a doubt, the case of the Infant Education students, such small students, have the right well attended at school, also if your needs are done on.

I do not know how they will fix the matter in your cabbages, in ours they call the parents generally, although I know that some teacher has taken care of some children, advising the parents so that the little ones consolidate the habits of going to the bathroom at home.
