Prince William shares his experience with fatherhood, in a preparation event for future parents

A few decades ago, the care and upbringing of children used to be something that was solely in the hands of mothers, but over the years, parents began to get more and more involved and now the responsibility is shared, because as well We know, parenting is both.

But in addition to seeing more parents getting involved, it is also increasingly common to see famous parents share some moments and experiences of their fatherhood. An example of this is Prince William, who recently attended a preparation event for future parents and shared his experience as a father of three.

As we know, Prince William and Kate Middleton, Dukes of Cambridge, are parents of three children: Charlotte George and Louis. On previous occasions, we have talked about the kind of upbringing they have with their children, and the duchess has shared a bit of her experience and the changes she has experienced after becoming a mother.

Is now Prince William who has spoken about his experiences as a father, and he did it as a guest in an event entitled "Future Dads" organized by the charity "Future Men", where he participated giving a talk to the attendees.

The purpose of this event is prepare men for fatherhood, telling them about the changes they will experience emotionally and their new responsibilities, as well as putting into practice some of the things they will do when their baby is born.

Among the themes that Prince William touched on, He shared some advice with prospective parents about childcare, as when dressing them, about what he joked saying that the most difficult part were the buttons and the time to change diapers.

During the event the future parents simulated changing diapers to some dolls, about which Prince William told one of the attendees that it was never simple and joked about how worrying it may be the first few times:

"They are so fragile and everything is so tiny, all their fingers and toes, you feel that if you move them too much they could break, but they do not".

"The fear of having a newborn baby that is so vulnerable is one of the things you spend more time worrying about, thinking 'what do I do?' And that is, it is very intimidating how tiny they are when they just come into your life"he added.

But in addition to joking about diaper changes and the nerves of holding a newborn for the first time, Prince William also talked about the changes experienced in the rhythm of life after the arrival of the children, and the importance of working as a team with the couple:

"Once the lack of sleep becomes present, stress levels increase. From an early age you are taught to have a vision, have a plan, have a career, and suddenly babies arrive and you have to start thinking about many more things. I think women give more and are more generous, but to make a success of whatever we are going to do, we must be together in tune. It's a big change, because your life is on a path and then you have to stop".

Although we usually see courses or workshops that are usually aimed at women and future mothers, this kind of event is also important, in which future parents are prepared with a real perspective about fatherhood and talk about the changes that will be in your life and routine.

Recent studies have shown that they also suffer from postpartum depression almost as frequently as women, because as we know, although they do not go through pregnancy, they also experience changes at the biological level, It is therefore important that you prepare for all the changes you will experience when becoming parents.
