Art education brings great benefits in the academic and social development of children and preteens

In addition to the academic education children receive at school, it is important to foster in them since childhood the love for the arts, which can become a way of expressing your emotions and also of developing your talents and skills.

According to a new study, Art education brings great benefits in the academic and social development of children and preteens. We tell you what they are.

This new study, which analyzed more than 10,500 students aged 8 to 12 enrolled in 42 schools in Houston, Texas, found that by participating in artistic activities children developed certain skills better.

In Babies and more, do you already know what kind of artist your son will be?

It was found that children and preteens who participated more frequently in artistic activities such as dance, theater or visual arts (painting, drawing and photography, among others), they were more compassionate with others, presented less discipline problems and obtained better results in writing and writing tests.

In addition, by attending classes or experiences related to the arts, the students showed a greater interest or commitment with the school, as well as greater university aspirations.

On other occasions we have talked about the benefits that certain artistic skills bring, such as playing the piano, which helps them in language acquisition, or doing theater, which helps foster creativity, improve diction and overcome shyness, among many other things.

With this type of studies it is demonstrated that not only academic knowledge is essential, but also to give priority to artistic education and provide children with spaces and courses where they can learn about the arts, well remember that they are also an important part of the stages of their development.
