Highlights in Babies and more: May 16-22

Today as every week we offer you a summary of highlights of the last week in Babies and more.

This week has been marked by the elections on Saturday and the events that took place in various parts of Spain, in the form of concentrations. From Babies and more we wanted to bring society's concern to the blog through children, with children entering the mobilizations for democracy.

We talked about the second children, how to prepare your child for the arrival of the new baby and what happens when the second child takes time to arrive.

We have also addressed issues related to breastfeeding, since we have known that the breastfed baby performs ten percent more sucking movements than the one who takes a bottle, we have treated one of the myths of breastfeeding, which says that for a Woman have enough milk should drink plenty of water and related to water we have talked about the insatiable thirst during breastfeeding. We have also shown you how breastfeeding was in Egyptian art and we talked about a study that says breastfed children could have better behavior.

With regard to pregnancy, we have explained the differences between 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound scans and we have finished with the series of entries that answered the frequent questions in the third trimester of pregnancy with the second and third part. We have also proposed a question for you to answer this week: The question of the week: When did you start to feel the baby's kicks?

Focusing on the time of delivery we have explained the evidence that exists about one of the possible routine interventions in hospital delivery: the control of the mother's mobility.

Summarizing now what happens with the little ones of the house we have talked about the importance of a good breakfast in childhood, of the natural and logical fear of strangers, of how adversities experienced in childhood accelerate aging and we have talked again about vaccination, explaining that vaccination saves lives in the world.

We have also talked extensively about some disorders of children's speech, specifically, of dyslalia, for which we have dedicated four entries (I, II, III and IV), which are complemented by the fifth, in which we have talked about treatment of dyslalia.

We have also commented on something that many of us suspected: television influences children's language.

With regard to our role as parents and educators, we have also commented in several posts on the subject of emotional blackmail, which was the usual methodology when we were young and should be banished. We have related this issue with fear, guilt and love, we have offered some examples in the education of children and we have explained what the consequences might be.

We have also talked about some activities for children on a cruise and in other things, we have explained what are the biggest risks for children and we have asked you if, unfortunately, the baby has ever dropped you.

We hope that this week the contents of Babies and more find them interesting, enjoyable and practical. We will work to make it happen.
