Activity cards for children: five years

We continue with our proposals to create a booklet of varied, fun and appropriate activities for five-year-olds, so that all those who love to color, "write", draw, cut and paste or model can do so.

We remind you that we have selected chips for three-year-olds and activity sheets for four-year-olds, in case your children are younger.

At five years, the activities that the child can perform are more complex, he already dominates the multiple strokes (vertical, horizontal, inclined, curved, circular, cross, spiral, broken, loop, discontinuous ...) and knows how to spell the letters and the spelling of numbers up to 10.

Here we leave you one selection of printable activity sheets, suitable for the child's five years, some with our explanation and guidance, others very simple:

  • In the web of Resources classroom PT we find a lot of interesting material for children of five years, to review the basics, cut, find the differences, order simple time sequences ...

  • In Waece we find a series of worksheets for children from three, four and five years old. I recommend you take a look because they are quite interesting, such as those that propose to paint drawings according to numbers and colors.

  • These are the geometric figures, of Fantasmín, an old acquaintance of resources for child learning.

  • Caxigalines leaves us these cards for the first sums.

  • In Coloring Tales we find many files classified by themes: numbers, coloring, the human body, completing series ...

  • In Profes.net we find a series of SM tokens of stroke progression in three levels of complexity, for three, four and five years, from straight vertical and horizontal strokes to loops, letters, combination of strokes ...

  • Orientation Andújar leaves us some interesting sheets for vowel literacy, with an introduction to know how to use them correctly.

  • The dotted alphabet is found in Pekegifs on printable files.

  • We remind you that in one of the most popular children's websites, Chocolate egg, there is a section with activity sheets classified by themes and suitable for children aged three to five years.

  • In Picasaweb (accessed with a Google account) we find more than one hundred tabs with Mathematical exercises and varied hobbies for five-year-olds.

In addition, we can develop the materials, simply by following the basic skills that dominate at these ages

Along with the capabilities mentioned above, at five years there is recognition of the first ten ordinals and "last", and the numerical series until 10, producing the association number with quantity. They can solve problems that involve the application of simple operations; remove, add, distribute.

The basics dominate: large-small-medium, high-low, long-short, near-far, thick-bent, on one side, on the other side, first-last, full-empty, hard-soft, front-back , up-down, over-low, in-out, left-right, equal-different.

There are more geometric shapes that recognizes and reproduces: square, circle, triangle, oval, rectangle, rhombus, and geometric bodies (sphere and cube), read the vowels and there is auditory and visual discrimination of the letters.

We encourage you to create a activity booklet for five year olds with these and other materials that you can think of, trying variety and leaving space for your most personal creations, such as free drawing, writing (they dictate), finger painting, your photos, crop and paste ...
