A Houston woman gives birth to three baby couples (sextuplets)

The mother of 23 weeks of gestation

A Houston couple has become famous in the last week by announcing on their website that have given birth to sextuplets. It all happened this Monday, the 23rd, when Lauren Perkins had a C-section for her six children to be born.

The babies were premature, because they were born with 30 weeks of gestation. Three of them are children and the other three baby girls, that is, in the absence of getting a couple (which seems to be the ideal of many people: "I already stop, I already have the couple"), they had three.

The birth occurred at the Texas Children's Hospital and as reported by the parents themselves, both the mother and the six babies are stable. The largest of the babies weighed just under a kilo, not having made public the weight of the other five or the names they have given them.

1% chance of having 6 children

Lauren and her partner David Perkins had long been trying to have children without achieving satisfactory results. This led them to undergo fertility treatments and artificial insemination. They told them that they had 25% of the woman getting pregnant. In case of staying, the chances of having twins were 25%, a percentage that was decreasing as you added children, until you reach a 1% chance of having sextuplets.

Well, as it is said that statistics are to break them, Lauren became pregnant with six babies. The parents, evidently, explained that they felt a wave of happiness and excitement, but also of panic at what was coming.

As they say on their website, they will gradually give more details. At the moment they have asked for some privacy, because apparently they are being called from the media to interview them and, the truth, two days after being a father or mother, one does not feel like spending time explaining to everyone how it has gone. everything, and less if you had six children at once.
