On Mother's Day you can visit a Botanical Garden

What are you going to do on Mother's Day? Are you going to stay in a house? Will you take a walk in the neighborhood? Will you visit Grandma? I would like to sleep until 9 in the morning, something I don't remember if I have ever done it since I was a mother, but I have decided to invite my family to visit a very special place to enjoy the pleasure of being together without obligations or looking at the clock.

That is why I have thought to recommend a visit to one of the countless “Botanical gardens” in Spain. They are attractive and have a lot of life, also on many occasions they offer a program of activities for families ... and especially in them we will feel very comfortable surrounded by plant species that wait patiently to be observed and admired.

The little ones will know the seasonal flowers and the advice for their care, and they will understand why these places are so important for the conservation of some trees or plants. Do you have any nearby? In Blanes (Catalunya) is the Marimurtra garden that has more than four hectares of living plants belonging to subtropical, temperate and Mediterranean climates. Walking along its paths you can see unique prints, and it has many beautiful places to enjoy.

In the center of Mallorca is Lluc (considered a sacred forest), it is an incredibly serene and beautiful place that houses the first Marian sanctuary of the Balearic Islands. And in it (70 meters from the Plaça dels Pelegrins) is the botanical garden that contains aromatic species, fruit trees and an Arboreum, a place to recreate.

In the town of Guatiza (Lanzarote), there is the Cactus Garden, a clear example of the architectural intervention integrated into the landscape. There live more than one thousand one hundred different species that come from places as far away as Peru, Kenya or the United States.

Aia is one of the largest villages in Guipuzcoa, its territory alternates coast with mountainous areas, the Iturraran Botanical Garden has 25 hectares, of which 15 are of native forest. An impressive beauty since it is inside the Pagoeta Natural Park, with a collection of 3500 taxa (mostly trees and shrubs), as well as endangered species from the Basque Country.

The Atlantic Botanical Garden of Gijón is a young monument that is gradually gaining prestige as an entity dedicated to environmental dissemination and biodiversity conservation. I highlight the Children's Forest because it is a very special place to lose yourself in family and discover while we learn.

In Cabo de Gata - Níjar we find the Albardinar (which owes its name to a species in the area that is adapted to the conditions of rocky and saline soils). It is a place that has taken advantage of natural wealth by empowering it.

And in the historic San Idelfonso Farm (Segovia) there are also gardens full of flower beds and woods decorated with ceramics and sculptures.

This is not all, because in our country there are more gardens, and surely you know them.
