The antagonists of the story, the Witch Corneja and his henchmen, will try to get ahead of the puppies and get the Marco Polo code to access the Palace of Magic. If the evil Corneja achieves its purpose, he can cast the spell to dry the canals of Venice and end his hated puppies forever.
The film managed to get the grant from the "Council of Europe" (Eurimages). "The Cubs and the Marco Polo Code" was a finalist for the Best Feature Film Award at Animacor 2010. More recently, it has been awarded the "Kineo Diamanti al Cinema" award at the Venice Film Festival 2011.
