We present a project that unites the aid to children deprived of parental care, with the impulse of the cognitive development of the little ones. Scrabble has developed with the NGO SOS Children's Villages the project “The power of words”.
Through this project Scrabble wants to contribute to the training and education of children and young people and to enhance their full development in a stable family and social environment. The latter is the work of Children's Villages, who offer children to grow up in a protective family environment for children deprived of parental care (or at risk of losing it) In “The power of words” every word that the user contributes to the game will add points that Scrabble will convert into euros to help children, youth and families. Each point will become € 0.01 that Scrabble will donate to SOS Children's Villages. The objective of Scrabble and SOS Children's Villages is to reach 1,000,000 points.
From approaches as apparently different as leisure at home and the work of an NGO, Scrabble and SOS Children's Villages have in common the approach of mental challenges, memory exercises and word association. These exercises, in addition to being entertaining, can help many children and young people to boost their development and autonomy.
