Benetton will report on the safety of the materials used in the children's clothing that it manufactures

The Benetton Group launches Dress Safe, a project aimed at informing consumers about the safety of children's products with respect to the presence of potentially dangerous components. The project was developed to incorporate the seal Eco Safe in the children's clothing lines of the Benetton Group. And it is that the clothes also have to fulfill the established norms on chemical and mechanical safety.

The seal is granted by the ICQ group, one of the most prominent and prestigious bodies for the certification of the quality and safety of consumer goods. The Safe Dressing philosophy pays special attention to children and for this it teaches parents all the information we demand to dress them safely. It is planned that from the fall / winter 2012-2013 collections, the United Colors of Benetton, Undercolors of Benetton and Sisley Young children's clothing lines will bear the Eco Safe special label.

Before arriving at the stores, and throughout its entire production process, from the concept phase to the finished product, the garments will have been supervised by a technical committee of security experts that will evaluate their potential physical / mechanical risks.

Benetton's commitment is demonstrated through the more than 45,000 physical / mechanical tests performed on numerous products during 2011. The number of samples submitted to these tests has undergone an additional increase in 2012, to which the required tests are also added to our suppliers. This special attention to children's clothing is part of a strict control policy that covers all the Group's products.

The Dress Up Safe project and the Eco Safe seal are explained on the website that Benetton has prepared, in English and Italian. With the launch of the fall / winter 2012-2013 collections, all information about Dressing Safe will be available in stores, as well as data regarding the company's policy on children's safety and environmental sustainability of their products .

We congratulate Benetton for the Safe Dressing project because it shows a ethical and social commitment of the Benetton Group. They are also worried about the environment and about offering transparency towards the consumer. Consumers appreciate all the clear, transparent and also committed information of this great Italian brand.
