From Greenwood (Midland / Texas) comes a sweet story starring a nine-year-old girl named Karsen Able. This little girl has had many health problems since she was a child, since after being born before term and suffering from hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy and hearing loss were added to a list of conditions.
Karsen has needed several surgery interventions, and treatments to keep his health stable, his family has had the support of the community to assume part of the expenses generated. It is a story of overcoming that surely has forged a very special character in Karen, and the sensitivity that shows towards others proves it.
He recently celebrated his ninth birthday and The gift he requested was that his guests wear shoes to donate to children in foster care institutions (as High Sky Children's Ranch). Although it is quite unusual for a child to want to replace his birthday gift with solidarity towards others, this little girl has grown up in an environment where it has been customary to donate products, and also those who know her know that despite his young age he is able to strive to make life more enjoyable to others. Among other things you can see her going to the nursery after school to read stories to babies.
Karsen knows that children who remain in governmental or private foster organizations, they need clothes and shoes, so his decision could not be more accurate. In fact, he has obtained 15 pairs of shoes that his family and friends took home when they went to celebrate the anniversary. Another 60 pairs have been bought thanks to the generosity of companies that have decided to support this girl.
I am admired for the courage of this girl who fights for her health, and does not forget those who need someone to remember them. I think it is an example to follow.
