The VAT of some school materials will rise

It has been confirmed that stationery items will see their VAT increased, and that means that when raising VAT, many school supplies will be more expensive: notebooks, pencils, pens, plasticine, craft papers among others, that is, what is normally purchased for school use but is not only for school use.

This nuance implies that other articles such as textbooks or booklets will not be affected by that VAT increase and are maintained with the reduced tax of 4%, but there will undoubtedly be an impact on the cost of the material that the children will have they use in their classes and, consequently, in the already quite suffered family economy.

The truth is that I must tell you that tax increases in regard to aspects of culture and education, directly or indirectly, they seem like a very dangerous way to try to stop any crisis: to improve a country, you have to invest in health, education, research and culture.

This, at least, is not as bad as saying that there are 20,000 teachers left when it is notorious that the best way to improve the quality of Education is to reduce the student / teacher ratio to be able to offer personalized attention.

I don't know what would have happened if you had known what measures you were waiting for. Undoubtedly, it would be beneficial if the electoral programs were more specific and transparent so as not to bring us surprises.

That should remain a priority and raise VAT on school supplies, counting the complicated situation of many families, it seems like abuse and error. There will be, yes, that sharpen the ingenuity and use only the essential, recycling, reusing and looking for alternatives.
