Frankenstein by Mary Shelley for iPad with Touch of Classic

Touch of Classic adapts a work of universal classical literature to arouse the interest of children and young people. In this case we are presented with the work Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It is an adaptation of the famous story in which you can see the evolution of Doctor Victor Frankenstein, who defies all established laws and as if it were a creator God, manages to give life to his famous Monster.

The work is an excellent adaptation, which can be enjoy in Spanish and English. You can read, you can listen and you can record the voice to tell the story to the child or to tell him himself. It seems to me an extraordinary way to encourage him to promote public speaking with joy and ease. The drawings are very good and full of details. I love the monster drawing, made by Miguel Calero, from which you can see in the article the image of the final page of the work.

Frankenstein is designed for children from 8 years old. On iTunes they rate it above 12 years although it seems a bit exaggerated. The children know Frankenstein and from the age of 8 I think it is difficult for them to be scared by what they see in a drawing or read in a text. It is also a classic of universal literature and the sooner they approach it the more they will like to expand and deepen the long work.

As in the rest of the works that we have been able to read from Touch of Classic, while reading the story it is possible to interact with elements and characters of the scenes. I've seen riddles, puzzles and games to complete. For example, the scene of the creation of the monster requires solving a complicated puzzle or the monster at the end of the text can be obtained all parts on the pages. In addition, and as you can see in the image, a floating tab includes the text, in Spanish and English, to accompany the narration.

The music has been very careful and is specially composed to enrich every page of the story. The atmosphere and emotions are also amplified with the chosen music.

Frankenstein is available on the iTunes App Store from August 1, 2012 to a price of 3.99 euros and $ 4.99 on the American iTunes. The application weighs 573 MB and is available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, where the size looks especially attractive.
