Crafts with children: make yourself a puppet theater

Recently I was with my two-year-old son in a very small theater, in fact, they sell it as the smallest theater in the city. It is a theater dedicated exclusively for children in which they make shows with puppets, puppets, Chinese shadows and other objects. We liked the show so much that I wanted to investigate how make a puppet theater at home.

Now would be a good time to make your own theater at home, you can use it for your children to make performances for Christmas.

With a little imagination, a lot of enthusiasm and some recycled material, you can make authentic puppet theaters (which will be nothing more than dolls that we already have adapted for the show). I leave you several ideas of how you can make this home theater for the representations of your children.

How to make a puppet theater with a cardboard box

This theater that we are taught to do in Kidoinfo, is made with a cardboard box, metal bars (you can use wire), an old cloth or used rags that you can use as curtains, some hooks (they are sold at hardware stores and hooked with adhesive), paint and little else.

You cut the cardboard box to your liking, leaving a square-shaped hole in the center to be the stage and paint it at your leisure, let your children design the theater, you will have a great time.

How to make a puppet theater with an old wooden drawer

In Anna-White we are taught to make a tiny theater with a wooden drawer, spray paint, varnish and curtains.

Theater made with curtains in a door frame

You can also make an emergency theater within the framework of a house door with simple curtains as they do in Makes and Takes. For this you need long fabrics (enough to reach from the top of the door to the floor) of various colors, ribbons to tie the ropes, a bar (they could serve the typical security doors of the children's rooms) or adjustable closet bars.

And now it's time to imagine, invent or adapt stories that we know so that our children represent them or represent them all together.
