The alliance for the vaccination of children of the Atlético de Madrid Foundation and the La Caixa Social Work with the image of Falcao

The Athletic Foundation of Madrid, the Obra Social la Caixa and GAVI Alliance join forces to boost the Child vaccination in low-income countries. It is a corporate social responsibility initiative that aims to channel the contributions of Spanish companies to the international institution GAVI Alliance.

The Atlético de Madrid player Radamel Falcao is the image of the initiative in Spain and contributes with La Caixa to boost the solidarity of companies. GAVI Alliance is an institution created in 2000 that focuses on facilitating children's access to new vaccines and improving the health system of low-income countries with the aim of combating child mortality.

At the Atlético de Madrid Foundation they have chosen Falcao to deliver the message because of the universal dimension of their figure and because the player is very committed to the campaign.

Atlético is the first football club in the world that has joined this project that, since 2000, has led the world-wide GAVI Alliance, a public-private institution formed by, among others, the United States Government, UNICEF, the World Health Organization and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Apparently the Bill Gates Foundation has committed to double the amount that La Caixa Social Work and the Athletic Foundation of Madrid achieve with this initiative. The challenge is to raise money for the initiative that has already immunized against various diseases to almost two million children in different countries since 2008.
