Our recommendation for Book Day: 'A walk with Mr. Gaudí'

This illustrated album is one of the most anticipated novelties of the month of April, and although International Children's and Youth Book Day has already been celebrated, Tomorrow we have a very good reason to remember (even more if possible) the importance of books in the development of children.

You can celebrate International Book and Copyright Day by participating in activities that (surely) are close to you, reading books, giving them away, or talking with other parents about everything that literature brings to your family. My selection of readings for such a marked day start with a book that (I still) hadn't talked to you about. The Juventud publishing house has surprised us by giving us this new addition to its catalog: it is 'A walk with Mr. Gaudí', with text and illustrations by Pau Estrada. It belongs to the Illustrated Albums collection, and its price with VAT is 14 euros.

Mr. Gaudí lives in a very particular place, Park Güell, which he has built for Count Güell in Barcelona. Every morning, he goes to work and watch the works that have been commissioned: La Pedrera, the Sagrada Familia, the Batlló house ... Although it may not seem so because of its appearance, Antoni Gaudí is one of the most renowned architects of his time, but sometimes It seems to people that their constructions are a bit extravagant ...

Children will enjoy admiring beautiful illustrations with all kinds of details, which they perfectly reflect the work of an architect who represented Catalan modernism, and left us works of great beauty.

But if you want to give literature and love for books you have many other possibilities. Our recommendations are just a small sample: a much more sensible Petunia, or that little pig that becomes a princess, a book that helps children to think, and another that shows them from the proximity to Diego (who, being different, wants what than any child).

The adventure and mystery they are in 'Between Darkness', and the determination to be what one desires in 'I am a dog'. If we have even found room for books about love for our children!

Stories about emotions for kids, and others that tell them stories about girls, teenage girls and women. A comic about Nazi persecution for the greatest and the memory of Mario Ramos with an indispensable and very current book, 'Luis's secret'.

These are the children's and youth readings that we have reviewed so far this year, during 2012 there were many more. But without a doubt, the star of the season is much more than a book, don't you know My little book box yet?

If you go to give a book to children you have many possibilities of choiceIt is not so difficult to know their tastes, and if you still have doubts about the latter, perhaps these ideas can help you.

Happy Book Day.
