Today is Book Day: do you want to celebrate by making your own mini books?

Yes, the day came when we paid tribute to one of the greatest exponents of culture, and to the most universal source of knowledge: the book. That faithful companion who is always willing to teach us things and entertain us in our leisure time, has made the leap, getting incorporated into the era of technology.

Paper books have some advantages over e-readers (no need to reload, the screen does not break if they fall), and vice versa (there are a lot of readings, their size is smaller than many volumes). But what we come to propose today is that make your own mini books at home. The idea is brought to us by Ana Nebreda de Biblioabrazo, she says that 'a multitude of ideas can be generated in six pages'. In addition we have a complete tutorial for the part of elaboration of the support, courtesy of the channel of Hero Arts in You Tube.

I've tried cardboard sheets in size A 4, and I get pages of about 10.5 (high) by 7.5 (wide). If you follow the instructions it is not difficult to elaborate, and also the video is seen in seven minutes. I have made the initial folds by placing the landscape cardboard, because if the pages where the history is created are made for the longest part, they are very narrow (this recommendation applies to the size that I have used).

For the contents, I recommend you read the post of Biblioabrazo, let the imagination fly and think if: you are going to raise a story based on questions and answers, or maybe you choose a collection of clippings, an illustrated poems, riddles, etc. My children are thinking about the contents to elaborate a mini book with which to give the cousin two years.

There are two important things to mention: before reopening the sheet to build the story, the pages must be numbered, so we will prevent history from jumping and nothing is understood. And on the other hand remember that every good story should present the character, develop the plot and provide an outcome.

In addition Ana Nebreda recommends us to visit Actiludis where there are already drawn stories that can give many ideas. You are already cheering for yourself?
