The lemon flavor leaves no child indifferent

These photographs of some young children trying lemon wedges, I have been reminded of myself when I looked in the fridge of my parents' house for halves of this precious culinary seasoning to give a good account of him 'the natural one'.

Years later history repeats itself and it is my daughter who finds the cut pieces of this citrus that is in the kitchen, she likes it a lot and it is not surprising because it brings a slight sense of well-being that compensates for its acid taste. In my house there are always lemons because I spend them a lot: pastry, preservative, to make juices, to squeeze on different dishes ... You do not have to look hard to find them, and yet I have not been able to look at the reaction of the little girl the first time I tried them: would you like them or not ?, Would wrinkle your nose or reflect pleasure on your face ?, What I do know is that he eats them little by little, and then drinks water to relieve the acidity in his tongue.

These photographs should not be given many explanations: they speak for themselves. Lemon can cause displeasure, surprise, crying, rejection, attraction ... some will continue to try, others will have had enough, but leaves no one indifferent.

Liliana tells us (from Direct to Palate) that they are the result of the joint work of photographers David Wile and April Maciborka, who have collected photographs of children up to three years old who eat a lemon for the first time.

Do you know how your kids reacted the first time they ate it?
