Do you have cold feet? Put on fatter socks, not another sweater

The weather in autumn and spring has fried us. Fried and misplaced, and I don't even tell the fathers and mothers, because we go out in the morning with a jacket, because we are cold, and at noon we do not use it, because it is rather warm. But with children we don't know very well what to do, because they don't tell us how cold or hot they are and because, moreover, they seem to feel less cold than we do, that they love sleeping uncovered.

The fact is that when a couple has a baby they never know well what to put them so that they do not go cold and, when they ask the grandmothers, the chances of error are usually high, because they are quite exaggerated and, one of two, or they love to see to their grandchildren who are deluded or want to see what happens if the child enters a pre-evaporation state.

Then the parents decide to stop paying attention to the grandmother and focus more on the sensations, on the touch, and touch their hands, touch their feet and realize that they are cold. They think he is cold and throw another blanket or put on another sweater. Error, in principle, error. If you have cold feet, put on some fatter socks, not another sweater.

Babies usually have cool hands and feet

It happens in winter, it happens in autumn and spring and some happens even in summer. Most babies have cold hands and feet, and if it is summer we can leave it in cool, at a lower temperature than the rest of the body. This is because the thermoregulation system of babies does not work as well as it should and is not able to warm the hands and feet, always being at a lower temperature.

However, the rest of the body does seem to maintain a better temperature, probably because that is where the main organs are (not to mention that this is where the organs are dry).

Therefore, when a couple with a small baby decides to be guided by the sensations to know if your baby is cold or hot should touch the back, the neck, putting the finger under the clothes. Nap warm but dry, the thing is going well. If it is wet, sweating, there are plenty of layers (probably restless). If it is quite warm, but dry, we must look at the temperature, because it is possible that the heat that has passed is even dehydrated and therefore does not sweat. If it is a tad cooler than us (it is not that we are going to notice it cold as marble), or if it seems that he is restless without sweating, and is not too warm, we warm him a little more to see if he feels better .

If you doubt, if you are not sure, you can always make the basic rule that says we should put on a sleeve more than adults, thanks to which, more or less, all children will be at a good temperature.

I see it well, but with cold feet

As I say, if you have already got a good temperature but it gives you the feeling that your hands and feet are cold, you can always put some thicker socks and mittens, because they are colder and normal does not mean that you do not have to cover them or try to catch a little temperature.
