Hot dogs in puff pastry. Recipe for children

Today we are going to prepare a very simple recipe to make some hot dogs in puff pastry, suitable for parties and children's gatherings that we can also have ready in advance and give a warm up when it's time for the snack, when the football match ends or when they return from the pool.

It's basically like a hot dog or traditional hot dog but with two variations: The first, the sausage, we are going to use white sausages or butcher sausages, which are always tastier than typical frankfurters. The second, instead of using the traditional dog bun, we will prepare our puppy with chilled puff pastry. You will see how delicious.

Ingredients for 3 puppies

  • 3 white sausages, 1 piece of puff pastry, 1 beaten egg

How to make hot dogs in puff pastry

We will start by calculating the puff pastry that we are going to need. To do this, we spread the puff pastry, we place the sausages on the dough and we cut squares that can serve to wrap the sausages well, closing the ends to cover them well.

Once we have calculated what we are going to need and cut the puff pastry portions, we make small packages with the sausages, trying close edges and ends tightly so that the sausage can be cooked in its own vapors while the puff pastry is baked until golden brown.

Preheat the oven to 200º, varnish with beaten egg the puff pastry dogs and bake in a bowl or on a silpat the pieces for about 12 minutes. Remember to turn them around by rolling the puppies and varnishing them on the other side so that they are golden brown everywhere.

When they are ready, we take out the puff pastry dogs, prepare the usual sauces and call everyone at the table, giving time for the dogs to cool a little to be eaten without risk of burning. Calculate one or two per person because they are great.
