Young people who don't really want banks can sign up for Keepunto PlayBanking

71% of the so-called Millennials or Generation Y I'd rather go to the dentist than visit a bank. To help facilitate that moment of visiting a bank has been launched Playbank, a financing system launched by Keepunto which allows young people to have their expenses without having to depend on their parents. The way to get the KEEs (Key Electronic Effort) is to overcome challenges, hire virtual deposits or play in a stock market simulator.

For the young boys Y teenagers born when the Internet already existed the best way to learn is to play and have fun. Therefore Keepunto has developed Playbank, an online banking simulator with a focus on gamification, which allows young people to win KEEs by playing and having fun. And, at the same time, they learn to effectively manage finances and take advantage of their skills.

PlayBanking is the first system of gamification applied to the world of finance proposed by Keepunto and which is aimed at young people between 14 and 24 years old.

Young people have to respond to the challenges proposed by the entity and thus they can accumulate income in their monetary account that they can use to invest in deposits, which are virtual, to play the Stock Exchange, buying virtually although in real time shares of companies listed on the IBEX35 or the NASDAQ, or redeem their KEEs for rewards for their effort in leisure products, music, technology and many other things. The platform promotes the illusion of young people to achieve their goals and rewards them when they try to achieve them.

Keepunto explains the basic principles of the model of Playbank in the following points:

  • Fun: the new generations are more open, fresh and fun, and the language of PlayBanking, attached to new technologies and entertainment, makes learning easier
  • Experimentation: teenagers use an online banking simulator that reproduces life patterns. The young person can play, experiment and verify on the platform the effects of their financial decisions, learning through the trial-error method, safely and without taking risks
  • Real and virtual status: young people feel motivated by recognition and prestige in the social community in which they participate, whether real or virtual. The PlayBanking proposes games, such as the simulation of investing in the stock market that allows the most daring and daring to appear before their community with the status of expert investors
  • Independence: for the generation of digital natives PlayBanking allows them to achieve certain degrees of freedom, autonomy and financial independence
  • Viralization: Virtual friends are as important or more important than real friends. Young people like to compete, expand their contacts, learn with them and keep interest alive. I think it is a good reference that more than 135,000 young people are already registered in PlayBanking
  • Reward: in PlayBanking the young person can choose and get any reward that is proposed. Gamification thus becomes the way of Keepunto to get teenagers to experience or even help design what will be the banking of the future. Keepunto is a pioneer in the financial and educational sector in one of the techniques that will be used most to redefine companies and sectors in the future

Keepunto, in September 2014, has 135,000 registered teenagers, more than 85,000 current accounts in KEEs, about 5,000,000 challenges overcome and 212,000,000 KEEs in circulation. It is a pioneer initiative throughout the world of Spanish origin and development that is promoted by the Ministry of Industry. In addition Keepunto received the Award for the most innovative Business Project in Spain at the 2013 Inspirational Festival.

It is a very interesting initiative that I think we will have to know and that our children will have to use and try soon.
