Parents celebrate their wedding at the hospital where their child remains with cancer

The diagnosis of a child's cancer is absolutely devastating for the whole family. From that moment on, life seems to stop and all plans are suspended in the air to devote themselves to the most important thing, caring for the child.

Celia and Geff Kinzel, an Ohio couple, had their wedding scheduled for 2018, but decided to advance the celebration due to the seriousness of Logan, their two-year-old son, affected by brain cancer. They never imagined that they would get married in the chapel of the Columbus Nationwide Children's Hospital where he remains admitted, because they wanted their son to witness that moment.

If you can't go to the wedding, the wedding comes to you

After an operation and months of chemotherapy sessions due to a medulloblastoma, the family received a few months ago the terrible news that the cancer had returned, so the child should receive treatment again.

As they don't know if Logan will survive, and because he can't leave the hospital, they decided to take the wedding there. The ceremony was attended by Logan, the couple's other son, Rowan and about thirty people who approached the hospital to share with the family that bittersweet moment.

The photo we see above was taken by Megan, the child's grandmother, while the three walked down the hospital corridor to Logan's room After the wedding. She commented:

“We were so happy that Logan was there. It was a beautiful day for Celia and Geff, a good time in such a difficult stage. ”

And despite the sadness that the image reflects, Megan expects them to reflect a different message: "It tells me about courage, love and the ability to find joy and happiness in almost any situation."

They decided to share the photo to raise awareness about pediatric cancer and give visibility to a disease that is diagnosed every year more than 150,000 cases worldwide.
