Now, a mother who unfortunately is living it firsthand, He has warned other parents about toys with magnets, after his son ingested 13 small magnets when opening a toy that contained them inside.

Through a post on his Facebook account, in which he shares a photograph of his son admitted to the hospital and a piece of the toy that contains the tiny magnets that he carried in his mouth, the mother explains what happened and the serious consequences it has had on the health of her son.

In it, the mother explains that They took his son to the hospital as an emergency, after realizing that he had opened one of the triangular pieces, which contained small magnets. He admits that he feels guilty and horrible about what happened, but that he decided to publish it to warn other parents about the ease with which these pieces can be disassembled and remove the magnets.

According to your post, his son ingested 13 of those small magnets, which led him to undergo emergency surgery, in which part of his colon, intestines and appendix were removed. As he says, the child should stay in the hospital for three to four days to monitor the infection he has and his intestines return to work, so he is still considered at high risk.

As we mentioned on previous occasions, when it comes to toys with magnets, it is best to avoid them and not risk an accident. The dangerous thing about this is not only the risk of suffocation or choking, but being magnetic, they can attract each other inside the stomach or intestines, causing serious injuries such as perforations, intestinal obstruction, blood poisoning and even death.

But in addition to taking care of the types of toys we give to our children and reading their labeling in detail, we must always be attentive and supervise children when they are using them.
