One Day Young, series of photographs of babies with a day of life in the arms of their newly released moms

Jenny Lewis is a London photographer who usually takes pictures of celebrities, as well as music groups. But one day he decided to start a new series of photographs, much closer and more emotional. As a child born at home, she decided to look for other mothers who had also decided to have their son in the privacy of their own home just as their mother did with her.

From all this was born One Day Young, a series of photographs of babies with a day of life in the arms of their newly released moms.

The work has been carried out over four years in which Lewis has been taking photographs of mothers who have voluntarily lent themselves to his call.

The idea was to capture that magical moment of union between the mother and her newborn, before the outside world begins to distort all those feelings. The series has the warmth and strength that brings this new feeling of being a mother for the first time.

Looking at the face of each of the women in the photographs we can see a multitude of feelings of various kinds, from the absolute tranquility, through the inevitable tiredness of the experience lived to that shock that only a child is able to bring to your lifetime.
